Mortgage Cadence's executive and senior management team offers over 100 years of collective experience in the financial services industry encompassing the expertise and operational knowledge that has been leveraged to develop a significant competitive advantage.

Michael Detwiler


Chief Executive Officer

Michael Detwiler is the CEO of Mortgage Cadence and oversees strategic planning for the overall operations of the company and is responsible for sales, marketing and managing the Mortgage Cadence product suite and additional service offerings. His responsibilities reflect and align with the company's commitment to sustaining a leadership position among the mortgage industry's top tier technology providers through his leadership, innovation and dedication. Michael was recently named one of the Mortgage Banking Association's IT All Stars for his persistent accomplishments within the industry.

Prior to his leadership at Mortgage Cadence, Michael was President of 3t Systems. During his tenure as President of 3t, the company was recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of the Top 500 Fastest Growing Companies for three consecutive years and ranked Number 3 for two consecutive years on Deloitte and Touche's "Colorado Technology Fast 50." Michael was also successful in overseeing Mortgage Cadence's selection by Mortgage Technology as a Top 100 Vendor.


Damir Matic


Chief Technology Officer

Damir Matic began working for Mortgage Cadence in 2003 as a Software Developer. This position gave Damir the fundamentals to align the company business objectives with its product platforms through choice technology. Damir's extensive and continued education as well as his core experience has guided the technical strategy enabling Mortgage Cadence to pursue new business and achieve unique profit gains while continuing to provide superior service to stakeholders. In 2008, Damir's "anything is possible" and forward-thinking approach earned him the Mortgage Cadence Visionary of the Year Award.

Prior to joining Mortgage Cadence, Damir's passion for leveraging technology and recreational software program coding (beginning at age 13) led him to Encoda Systems, Inc., a software and automation provider to the broadcast industry. Hired as a full-time Programmer Analyst in 1999, Damir gained valuable software product development experience as well as first-hand observation of how essential product architecture is to the success of an overall business strategy.

In 2000, Damir graduated with honors from Regis University located in Denver, Colorado. He currently holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics.


John Levonick


Chief Legal & Compliance Officer

John Levonick is the Chief Legal Officer for Mortgage Cadence and is responsible for working closely with Mortgage Cadence clients in identifying and managing compliance risk. In drawing from his advisory experience, John assists clients in interpreting compliance requirements, developing risk mitigation strategies and implementing the requisite controls within the Mortgage Cadence platform(s) to best protect the individual client. He will also be in continued communication with the Mortgage Cadence compliance team to give recommendations from a legal perspective and will provide support to clients for their ongoing regulatory compliance needs.

Prior to joining the Mortgage Cadence compliance team, John worked with creditors, servicers, secondary market participants and technology vendors in providing guidance on mortgage lending laws such as TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, FCRA/FACTA, ECOA, HMDA and GLBA (including fair lending, state anti-predatory and consumer credit). John was also responsible for overseeing the compliance content of vendor technology platforms, including policy tracking, interpretation and rule implementation. His experience as Chief Compliance Officer, Regulatory Counsel and Associate General Counsel in the mortgage lending industry has given him the skills to provide the guidance and direction required to navigate the challenges of a constantly changing regulatory environment.

John earned his Bachelor of Arts from Eastern Connecticut State University and his J.D. from the University of Miami, School of Law.


Brad Thompson


Executive Vice President, Professional Services

Brad Thompson is the Executive Vice President of the Mortgage Cadence Finale Business Unit. Brad and his team are responsible for overseeing the client management, technical implementation, document compliance and business development for Mortgage Cadence Finale, the document services and compliance solution division of Mortgage Cadence, Inc.

Prior to joining Mortgage Cadence, Brad served as the Director of Financial Services for Mortgage Cadence's sister company 3t Systems, where he was responsible for managing and delivering IT consulting services to the financial sector spanning small regional banks to large multi-national financial institutions.

Brad holds an MBA from the University of Colorado, Leeds School of Business as well as an undergraduate degree in Public Relations from Colorado State University.


Chuck Kimball


Executive Vice President, Product Management

Chuck Kimball has over 15 years experience in the mortgage banking and lending industry and over 25 years within the software industry. He joined Mortgage Cadence in 2005 and brings an inclusive working knowledge of strategic product management. His primary focuses as EVP of Alliance Partnerships include consulting partner account management and training, client account management, gathering customer input for insertion into the product roadmap as these items relate to the vision of Mortgage Cadence, and establishing long term relationships and collaborative communication channels with our clients. He was responsible for the creation of the Mortgage Cadence Advisory Group (MCAG), a group that provides customer guidance and feedback on development initiatives and product direction. In addition, Chuck assists the sales and marketing departments by providing industry knowledge and identifying current and future trends and issues.

Before coming to Mortgage Cadence, Chuck worked for a competing lending platform where he provided industry and product support to the sales team and participated in product development and future enhancement strategy. He also worked for Wachovia Bank, where he held various positions in both the technology and business management sectors of the organization. At Wachovia, Chuck presided over the integration and implementation of a new client/server origination system and managed a team of 80 business analysts, testers, project managers, and support desk analysts. Chuck also managed the technical priority process as well as the development and management of the technical division's budget.

Chuck earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Mississippi in Economics as well as a Master of Business Administration in Management from the University of Mississippi.


Dan Goldman


Executive Vice President, Finale Document Services and Loss Mitigation Technology Sales

Dan Goldman is the Executive Vice President of Sales for Mortgage Cadence Finale and Loss Mitigation Technology. He has over 23 years of Mortgage Banking experience focused on all areas of the origination business. Dan and his team are responsible for building long-term relationships and partnerships with clients. Prior to joining Mortgage Cadence, Dan spent seven years with Lehman Brothers (Aurora Loan Services) where he was most recently the SVP of Consumer Direct Lending Sales. He was also the Regional Sales Director for the Central Region in the Wholesale Channel while at Aurora Loan Services. In addition, Dan has held roles with such companies as Citicorp, PNC and Indy Mac and has been an entrepreneur as a partner for both a Mortgage Banking and Mortgage Broker operation.

Dan earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from National Louis University in Evanston, Illinois.


Keith Kemph


Executive Vice President, Sales

Keith Kemph, EVP of Sales for Mortgage Cadence, has over 22 years of industry experience. In his current role, Keith is responsible for overseeing the development, deployment and sales of the Mortgage Cadence product suite. Keith brings significant focus, energy and commitment to driving impactful lending software solutions to the mortgage banking business.

Over the course of his career, Keith has held many sales and sale management positions as a Branch Manager and Regional Sales Manager. He also spent seven years in the role of VP National Sales where he was responsible for several multi-million dollar software development projects including the deployment and management of their lending software solution supporting over $30 billion in annual sales, 700 sales reps and over 1,200 users. Keith continued to pursue his passion for software solutions and went on to become National Sales Manager mortgage software company. Keith's background includes consulting a variety of start-up mortgage technology software firms and assisting them with the building and deployment of large-scale national sales and business development strategies.

Keith attended Southern Illinois University where he earned his degree in Business Management.


Trevor Gauthier


Executive Vice President, Enterprise Sales & Marketing

Trevor Gauthier is a seasoned business-to-business sales and marketing professional with experience overseeing marketing, public relations and sales operations. His responsibilities include enterprise sales, the development and execution of marketing and communication strategies, building cohesive and recognizable brands, content creation, market identification and segmentation, and recommending strategic approaches and executable plans to maximize sales activity and returns on investment.

Trevor previously held an executive marketing position at 3t Systems, Inc., a consulting company that provides information management and information technology services to a broad range of vertical industries, including construction and engineering, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, and food and beverage. His prior experience also includes working for such companies as Lion, Inc., Clear Channel Communications and the Financial Group Ltd., where he spearheaded efforts surrounding partner and customer management, conference and trade show management, database development, e-marketing, product launches, search engine optimization and Web site development.

Trevor received a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing with a minor in Economics from Syracuse University's Whitman School of Management. The 2008 rebranding of Mortgage Cadence (Catch the RHYTHM), in which Trevor played a pivotal role, won the MarCom Platinum Award for corporate branding, an international creative competition that recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communication professionals.


Jonathan Nahil


Chief Technology Executive

Jonathan Nahil has over 10 years of experience in software development. Jonathan joined the Mortgage Cadence team in 2006 as a senior developer and has since operated as a team lead and manager of development. In his role as Director of Technology, Jonathan oversees all technical aspects of Mortgage Cadence including day-to-day operations, architecture, design, development, and internal support. He is responsible for long-term product direction as well as regular releases of all Mortgage Cadence solutions including Orchestrator, Harmony, Finale, and Opus.

Prior to joining Mortgage Cadence, Jonathan held senior development positions at businesses ranging from retail sales to online marketing management. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from the Colorado School of Mines, where he graduated with high scholastic honors.


Janice Thomas


Director of Support Services

Janice Thomas has over 20 years of support services experience in the banking software industry. She joined Mortgage Cadence in 2005 and serves as the Director of Support Services. Janice is responsible for the management of Help Desk, including documentation and categorization of resulting code change requests, and Technical Communications which includes Release Notes, Mortgage Cadence Manuals, training courses and materials.

Prior to joining Mortgage Cadence Janice was employed by mortgage solution provider as the Director of Support Services where she was responsible for the installation, training, implementation and support of three product lines.

Janice earned a Bachelor of Arts from Colorado State University in Anthropology and Spanish as well as a Master of Science in Marketing from the University of Colorado in Denver.


Tim Counterman


Director of Compliance

Tim Counterman has over 22 years of experience in the mortgage industry with 13 years focused in the areas of regulatory compliance and operational risk. Tim manages updates to the Mortgage Cadence Finale Document Library in conjunction with changes to Federal, State and Agency regulations. He is also responsible for compliance newsletters and bulletins.

Prior to joining Mortgage Cadence, Tim's experience included duties with such companies as JP Morgan Chase, Wells Fargo and Waterfield Mortgage. He has worked extensively in Default Management in addition to his roles in compliance and risk.

Tim has a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Business Administration and Political Science from Wittenberg University.
