Executive Management


Michael Detwiler


Chief Executive Officer

Michael Detwiler is the CEO of Mortgage Cadence and oversees strategic planning for the overall operations of the company and is responsible for sales, marketing and managing the Mortgage Cadence product suite and additional service offerings. His responsibilities reflect and align with the company's commitment to sustaining a leadership position among the mortgage industry's top tier technology providers through his leadership, innovation and dedication. Michael was recently named one of the Mortgage Banking Association's IT All Stars for his persistent accomplishments within the industry.

Prior to his leadership at Mortgage Cadence, Michael was President of 3t Systems (where he continues to serve as Vice Chairman). During his tenure as President of 3t, the company was recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of the Top 500 Fastest Growing Companies for three consecutive years and ranked Number 3 for two consecutive years on Deloitte and Touche's "Colorado Technology Fast 50." Michael was also successful in overseeing Mortgage Cadence's selection by Mortgage Technology as a Top 100 Vendor.

Prior to 3t Systems, Michael was the president of Office Products International in Denver, Colo. After his term at Office Products International, he moved to New York, where he served as vice president of sales at Barouh Eaton Allen Corporation.


Chuck Kimball


Executive Vice President, Client Relations

Chuck Kimball has over 15 years experience in the mortgage banking and lending industry and over 25 years within the software industry. He joined Mortgage Cadence in 2005 and brings an inclusive working knowledge of strategic product management. His primary focuses as EVP of Client Relations include account management, gathering customer input for insertion into the product roadmap as these items relate to the vision of Mortgage Cadence, and establishing long term relationships and collaborative communication channels with our clients. He was responsible for the creation of the Mortgage Cadence Advisory Group (MCAG), a group that provides customer guidance and feedback on development initiatives and product direction. In addition, Chuck assists the sales and marketing departments by providing industry knowledge and identifying current and future trends and issues.

Before coming to Mortgage Cadence, Chuck worked for a competing lending platform where he provided industry and product support to the sales team and participated in product development and future enhancement strategy. He also worked for Wachovia Bank, where he held various positions in both the technology and business management sectors of the organization. At Wachovia, Chuck presided over the integration and implementation of a new client/server origination system and managed a team of 80 business analysts, testers, project managers, and support desk analysts. Chuck also managed the technical priority process as well as the development and management of the technical division's budget.


Brad Thompson


Vice President, Finale Business Unit

Brad Thompson is the Vice President of the Mortgage Cadence Finale™ Business Unit. Brad and his team are responsible for overseeing the client management, technical implementation, document compliance and business development for Mortgage Cadence Finale, the document services and compliance solution division of Mortgage Cadence, Inc.

Prior to joining Mortgage Cadence, Brad served as the Director of Financial Services for Mortgage Cadence's sister company 3t Systems, where he was responsible for managing and delivering IT consulting services to the financial sector spanning small regional banks to large multi-national financial institutions.

Brad holds an undergraduate degree in public relations from Colorado State University and will be receiving his MBA from the University of Colorado in 2010.


Trevor Gauthier


Vice President, Marketing

Trevor Gauthier is a seasoned business-to-business marketing professional with experience overseeing marketing, public relations and sales operations. His responsibilities include the development and execution of marketing and communication strategies, building cohesive and recognizable brands, content creation, market identification and segmentation, and recommending strategic approaches and executable plans to maximize sales activity and returns on investment.

Trevor previously held an executive marketing position at 3t Systems, Inc., a consulting company that provides information management and information technology services to a broad range of vertical industries, including construction and engineering, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, and food and beverage. His prior experience also includes working for such companies as Lion, Inc., Clear Channel Communications and the Financial Group Ltd., where he spearheaded efforts surrounding partner and customer management, conference and trade show management, database development, e-marketing, product launches, search engine optimization and Web site development.

Trevor received a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing with a minor in Economics from Syracuse University's Whitman School of Management. The 2008 rebranding of Mortgage Cadence (Catch the RHYTHM), in which Trevor played a pivotal role, won the MarCom Platinum Award for corporate branding, an international creative competition that recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communication professionals.


Janice Thomas


Director of Customer Support

Janice Thomas has over 20 years of support services experience in the banking software industry. She joined Mortgage Cadence in 2005 and serves as the Director of Customer Support. Janice is responsible for the management of Help Desk, including documentation and categorization of resulting code change requests, and Technical Communications which includes Release Notes, Mortgage Cadence Manuals, training courses and materials.

Prior to joining Mortgage Cadence Janice was employed by mortgage solution provider as the Director of Support Services where she was responsible for the installation, training, implementation and support of three product lines.

Janice earned a Bachelor of Arts from Colorado State University in Anthropology and Spanish as well as a Master of Science in Marketing from the University of Colorado in Denver.


Jonathan Nahil


Director of Technology

Jonathan Nahil has over 10 years of experience in software development. Jonathan joined the Mortgage Cadence team in 2006 as a senior developer and has since operated as a team lead and manager of development. In his role as Director of Technology, Jonathan oversees all technical aspects of Mortgage Cadence including day-to-day operations, architecture, design, development, and internal support. He is responsible for long-term product direction as well as regular releases of all Mortgage Cadence solutions including Orchestrator, Harmony, Finale, and Opus.

Prior to joining Mortgage Cadence, Jonathan held senior development positions at businesses ranging from retail sales to online marketing management. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from the Colorado School of Mines, where he graduated with high scholastic honors.


Tim Counterman


Director of Product Management & Compliance

Tim Counterman has over 22 years of experience in the mortgage industry with 13 years focused in the areas of regulatory compliance and operational risk. Tim manages updates to the Mortgage Cadence Finale Document Library in conjunction with changes to Federal, State and Agency regulations. He is also responsible for compliance newsletters and bulletins.

Prior to joining Mortgage Cadence, Tim's experience included duties with such companies as JP Morgan Chase, Wells Fargo and Waterfield Mortgage. He has worked extensively in Default Management in addition to his roles in compliance and risk.

Tim has a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Business Administration and Political Science from Wittenberg University.
