As many companies jump to new Loan Operating Systems (LOS), they need to understand logistics of changing their systems before making the switch, according to industry insiders who discussed LOSs at the Mortgage Bankers Association's National Technology in Mortgage Banking Conference & Expo last month in San Diego.

Excerts of the panel discussion appear here. Gabe Minton, vice president of industry technology at MBA served as moderator. Panelists included Scott Cooley, principal of Cooley Consulting in Los Gatos, Calif.; Michael Detwiler, CEO for Mortgage Cadence Inc. in Greenwood Village, Colo.; Lester Dominick, president of MortgageFlex Systems Inc. in Jacksonville, Fla.; and Todd Luhtanen, president of Dynatek Inc. in Livonia, Mich.
