The New Year's merger of Denver-based 3t Systems and Engineering Computer Consultants Inc. of Fort Collins didn't create the atmosphere of layoffs and cutbacks that many of today's corporate buyouts produce.

Instead, plans for the newly formed 3t Systems, if executed, could bring a wave of high-tech jobs to the region.

In the deal, no jobs were lost. ECC closed its Denver office and moved staff to 3t's Denver office, while 3t closed its Windsor office in favor of ECC's Fort Collins office. The financial specifications of the deal have not been released.
